A Yellow Order for Judith Copithorne
and the 3rd anniversary of Judith: Women Making Visual Poetry
Eric Schmaltz, editor of Another Order, Selected Works by Judith Copithorne invited me to read at the Toronto launch in April. When I said I wasn’t able to, he suggested I record a reading so that I could be part of the event. I made “A Yellow Order” by going through Judith’s wonderful work in Another Order for yellow words. I have grapheme synaesthesia. Judith’s first name evokes yellow for me.
In May, Judith: Women Making Visual Poetry, named in honour of Judith Copithorne, celebrates its third anniversary. Happy 3rd book anniversary to Joakim Norling, the publisher of Timglaset Editions, to all the contributors in the book, to the community who supported the book and to all who have purchased and written, or shared the book with fellow enthusiasts of visual poetry.
I am really pleased that Judith Copithorne is getting the attention she deserves with Another Order, and grateful to her for being part of Judith: Women Making Visual Poetry, and for inspiring me to defiantly navigate the vispo waters and help make space for women.
