Dear friends,
If you are a feminist, queer, pansexual and polyamorous anti-racist who enjoys whimsy and connection to kindred spirits, you’ve found one here, a kindred, i mean. If you like leaps of logic and flights of fancy, i’m hoping you find them here. If you like to read more than you like to watch films or the kinds of films you like are character driven and more like long conversations than anything else, you might like this place.
If you are worried about the state of the world, and believe that now is not the time for kindness or politeness but the time to gather together with those who believe that taking care of one another is the ultimate goal of being alive, this is the place for you. If you are anti-capitalist and altruistic, if you care about the planet, if you want to somehow find joy amidst this apocalyptic time, this is your place.
I’m inspired by the great newsletter by Mona Eltahaway, Feminist Giant, which you absolutely should subscribe to.
As I venture out into the afternoon sunshine, I leave you with a favourite quote and photo.
“Getting lost was not a matter of geography so much as identity, a passionate desire, even an urgent need, to become no one and anyone, to shake off the shackles that remind you who you are, who others think you are.”
Rebecca Solnit, A Field Guide to Getting Lost
