Concetta was a recent client for my editing service. I am grateful to her for this testimonial and a huge fan of her writing.
I knew that Amanda would be the perfect reader of my work as she is a writer of hybrid projects and my manuscript is a hybrid of cnf and poetry. I knew she would pay attention to my language and be respectful of the content. I was not surprised, then, when she caught so many issues that I suspected were hampering the quality of the MS but could not pin point.. For example, the pervasive use of fragments was not something I was aware of using: oh, the power of the unconscious. With her help in seeing how much it was being used, I took more control of this stylistic strategy. Her attention to tone was stellar. She helped me to hear what I was doing and showed me when I was not being respectful of my subject matter. She also highlighted an issue with structure: the weave is a difficult form to work with to begin with: she gave me advice on how to retroactively shape what I have and make it stronger. I am so deeply indebted to Amanda for her critical eyes on the draft and her caring and careful support of my work. I highly recommend her as an editor.
