Greetings Dear Readers,
The poems in this month’s issue are poems of distance, holiness, nothingness, and apocalyptic dinner parties. I hope you enjoy the issue.
As we end 2023, a year of trouble, upheaval, and uncertainties, I am grateful to all who supported Bywords.ca this year: advisors, selection committee, contributors, readers, event organizers, publishers, readers, and the City of Ottawa, all who have helped to give the local community an opportunity to enjoy the fruits of creativity, to have hope and to be enriched through art.
In trying times, it’s good to have things to look forward to. In 2024, there will be literary festivals, readings, books available in local bookstores and libraries, workshops and all kinds of ways to engage with the community. I am looking forward to seeing you.
Thanks to our selection committee this month:
Jesse Aubin
Dan Boland
Chris Johnson
Sarah Kabamba
Andrew Lafleche
Stephanie Mason
Jade Riordan
Jagjeet Sharma
Marjorie Silverman
Carol A. Stephen
JC Sulzenko
