Are you taking part in Inktober? “Jake Parker created Inktober in 2009 as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year.” You can read more about the challenge here.
For several years, I have been enchanted by Inktober and longed to participate. I am going to override the little voice that reminds me oh so sweetly that I am not an artist, that my drawing skills are shite and that I just shouldn’t ever share my doodles in public with anyone or even try to draw anything at all.
I will be taking part in Inktober this year. For this challenge I have created a little character whose name is Gladys. If you’d like to follow Gladys’ adventures in Inktober, you can follow my Instagram account.
I am also making one handbound, handpainted book of the Inktober doodles that I will offer as part of the AngelHousePress 2024 Caring Imagination Crowd Funding Campaign.
1) Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).
2) Post it*
3) Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2023
4) Repeat
