As promised, here’s an excerpt from my erotic novel-in-progress, Naked in Ten Photos. For now, I envision this as being the beginning of the first chapter. It introduces the characters of Rachel and Linden, gives a bit of background and sets the scene for sexual tension, all being well. It is not set in any specific place, nor is it set in a particular time, except that it is a time where digital technology is not available.
If you have any thoughts on the excerpt, please let me know. Is the background too much information early on? Are the camera choices effective/accurate? I want to portray film cameras and polaroids, non-digital cameras. Do you have any memories of taking photos on such? If so and you think there are details I should include, please let me know. How do you feel about the use of they for Linden, a non-binary character? Do you have any recommendations for books featuring non-binary characters?
Thank you for subscribing to my Substack. I hope you enjoy the excerpt.
