Today I have the honour and pleasure of reading with two dear friends: AJ Dolman and Concetta Principe. The reading will take place on Zoom at 2pm Eastern Daylight Time. I first met AJ when they we both went to the Tree Reading Series in Ottawa. Their partner James, along with Jennifer Mulligan hosted the series in the basement of the Royal Oak on Laurier East. The venue is now gone and the reading series, which lasted for over 40 years seems to be defunct, but my friendship with AJ has thrived. I have published their work through both AngelHousePress and Bywords.ca. I am pleased to be able to read with them as they read from their debut poetry collection, a book that is startling, honest and playful and relevant.

I first met Concetta at Toronto’s Battle of the Bards where we were both reading in 2017. Concetta read from her book, Hiroshima, A Love War Story and I was wrapt by the work. We have kept in touch ever since and I have published Concetta’s work through AngelHousePress. Disorder is a raw and honest and brilliant.
