I am thrilled to be reading again with Sandra Ridley and Christine McNair to celebrate the launch of Christine’s new book, Toxemia, a collection of essays, memoir and prose poetry published by Book*Hug. I will be reading from Beast Body Epic and Sandra will be reading from Vixen. I am also really happy for Sandra whose book won the League of Canadian Poets 2024 Pat Lowther Award and is a finalist for the City of Ottawa 2024 Book Awards. Stay tuned for more information about the reading and announcement of the winner.
It’s going to be a free event. Hope to see you there either in person or via the live stream!

These readings will take place following the 21st annual Bywords John Newlove Poetry Award and the City of Ottawa Poets Laureate readings at 6:30pm.
Copies of all three books will be available at the event via Perfect Books for Vixen and Toxemia, and me for Beast Body Epic.
More information is available at WritersFestival.org.
In October 2014, at the Ottawa International Writers Festival, I launched Kiki, my first poetry book, published by Chaudiere Books and now available from Invisible Publishing. I am still really proud of that book and all being well, copies of Kiki will be available. Happy ten year anniversary, Kiki! Note this gorgeous cover, designed by the wonderful Christine McNair! I am still so grateful to rob mclennan and Christine McNair for publishing Kiki. They came to my apartment with the books and a small bottle of champagne. Amazing friends, amazing publishers!

At some point, I’m going to share the photos Charles took of me in the style of Man Ray’s photos of Kiki. Stay tuned!
Congratulations, Amanda!
