The September issue of Bywords.ca is now online with poems by Amelinda Bérubé, Kirsten Bussière, Louise Chivers, Gregory Myers. http://bywords.ca/
Greetings Dear Readers,
As the nights get longer, as we head into the colder months, it’s not surprising that this month’s issue features poems of bats, Eurydice, Paris in the evening, and a wolf, offering several variations of the dark. I hope you enjoy the issue.
One of the things we do here is to offer you a calendar full of literary, spoken word, story telling and nonfiction events. You can consult the calendar on your browsers on your desktops, or find out each day about the events on your phones and in your inboxes through social media. You can follow @bywordsdotca on Twitter and https://www.facebook.com/Bywords.ca on Facebook. On Mastodon, I share events daily through my personal account: @AmandaEarl@ottawa.place. You can also subscribe to Bywords on Substack: https://amandaearl.substack.com/s/bywordsca.
One of my goals when we started Bywords.ca in 2003 was to ensure that no one who wanted to attend an event missed it because they didn’t know about it. Now you have the option of finding out about local events in myriad ways. I hope to see you at an open mic, a book signing or launch or a spoken word showcase. If you found out about the event through Bywords.ca, let me know! If you know of an event that isn’t on the calendar, also let me know.
Thanks to our selection committee this month:
