In 2023, I published Beast Body Epic, a collection of long poems provoked by my near-death health crisis. Writer, editor, essayist and small press publisher, Su Zi was kind enough to review it for GAS: Poetry, Art and Music. This is the seventh review of Beast Body Epic. I really like Su Zi’s engagement with the book and the way she brings up the issues of disability and illness as subjects that are not often discussed. You can read the full review here.
Beast Body Epic will have its in-person Ottawa launch in March at VERSeFest. I will have copies of the book available for sale and signature. Don’t forget to support the VERSeFest crowd funding campaign, if you can. It is in its final few week.
I am grateful for funding received from the Ontario Arts Council and the City of Ottawa for this manuscript, along with support for readings from the League of Canadian Poets and the Writers Union of Canada.
If you don’t have a copy yet, you can order one through AngelHousePress or contact me directly. Publishing Beast Body Epic and getting a chance to engage with audiences in Montreal and on Zoom was a highlight of my 60th year. I still have two boxes left! So don’t be shy.
I’m so looking forward to getting a copy once my bookstore monies come in!
