This two-hour online workshop will explore the connections between poetry and prose, and how and when to use the techniques of one to enhance the other. It will include discussion, examples and short writing exercises.
Biographies
Amanda Earl (she/her) is a writer, editor, publisher and visual poet living on the unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe Peoples. She’s the managing editor of Bywords.ca and the fallen angel of AngelHousePress. Her most recent poetry book is Beast Body Epic, a collection of long poems provoked by her 2009 near-death health crisis.
Kate Heartfield is a novelist, short story writer and game writer, and a former journalist. Her latest novel is The Valkyrie, a retelling of Norse and Germanic legends, and her 2022 novel The Embroidered Book was a bestseller in the UK and Canada, won the Aurora Award for best novel, and was shortlisted for the Ottawa Book Award.Â
